Christopher Booker

Christopher Booker is an award-winning video and multimedia journalist based in Chicago. He is also an associate professor with Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism - teaching at both the Chicago & Doha, Qatar campus. Outside of teaching he is a freelance video and audio producer for Slate.com, Time magazine & NPR's Hearing Voices.

Prior to joining Northwestern, Booker worked as a video and multimedia journalist for the Chicago Tribune. He wrote, produced, shot and edited video and multimedia content for the paper's website and broadcast partners. In addition, he has written for the Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine, Books, National and Perspective sections.

In March, 2009 Booker was recognized with the Best Multimedia Portfolio by the Illinois Press Photographer Association. In 2008, he was a Livingston Award Finalist as well as a Reuters Fellow in Mumbai, India. Past recognition includes a Digital Edge Award, an Online Journalism Award and a Jones-Beck Award. His documentary "The C Number," was an official selection in the 2007 Chicago International Documentary Festival.
