Learn Multimedia Online
The Compelling Image provides you with the ability to learn multimedia online and interactively - covering a range of topics that combine audio and still photographs, video clips and stills and combinations thereof, to produce powerful and compelling multimedia stories and productions.
Advancing from snapshots to making photographs is a quantum step for photographers keen on self-expression. It requires competency with light, colour, composition and capturing that definitive sense of moment. But this is just the start! This online photography course helps you discover your personal style of photography.
For decades photographers have had tremendous but unrealized creative power already in their camera bags: the battery powered speedlight. These little beasts have been relegated to essentially being on camera lights but when they are taken off camera and treated as tiny studio strobes their strength comes out. These online photography classes will have you using small on-camera speedlights - combined with some simple and affordable accessories - to create dynamic portraits - anywhere, at any time.
In this course you will be guided through the basics of photography and styling from the point of view of a food photographer and/or stylist. We will cover how to use natural light to highlight your images, find and select props for your set-up, compose the perfect shot, the rules of placement and angles and use of color and texture to creatively enhance the set-up. You will be equipped with all the elements you need to hone your skills in food photography and learn how to find your way through the jungle of food styling to create the perfect set-up.
Best way to learn about something is first-hand and hands-on. That's what this abreviated sample lesson is all about. Is it representative of the types of online photograpy lessons and assignments you'll receive as an enrolled TCI student? Yes. Does it reflect the skill level TCI courses call for? Answer to this is that our courses, whether photography, video or multimedia, range from introductory to advanced / aspiring professional levels of skill. That said, no course can be strictly categorized, there is always overlap. For you the student, this means if you need extra help with a specific course, our instructors will always be there for you - to bring you "up to speed," with whatever you need and do it in a non-stressful and supportive way.
A relative newcomer to the visual arts scene, iPhoneography, is fast gaining momentum. And the most successful iPhotographers - exhibitors of work, winners of international competitions - aren't photography professionals. They're people like you - iPhone enthusiasts, inspired by the world around them and poised to present their vision in stunning and infinitely creative ways.
iPhoneography isn’t simply about documenting the world as it is. There are hundreds of hi-res DSLR cameras out there that can do a much better job at that than a hand-held gadget you can call home on. iPhoneography is other and far more than that.
