Enroll now

We'll base ourselves in Upper Dharamsala (McLeod Ganj) at an elevation of 5,900 ft (1798 m) to explore the diversity this ancient culture has to offer. From traditional ways transported from the homeland of Tibet, to the integration of youth into Indian society and the global, western world, there will be plenty to focus your camera on. The goal of this workshop is not only to improve your skills with camera and lens, it's to explore the energy and dynamism that lies behind a culture held intact by pride and spirit. In the course of it all, you will produce a photo-essay based upon subject or theme of your choice. Both David and Ashwini will be on hand full-time to give instruction and guidance, when needed. We will work in digital and students should bring along a laptop with image-processing software, in addition to their camera equipment.

What is included:

The cost of the workshop includes instruction, accommodation per itinerary (4-star hotels in both Delhi and McLeod Ganj), meals (breakfast in Delhi and breakfast and dinner while in Dharamsala), ground transportation in India (airport transfers, rail and minibus travel per itinerary).

What is not included:

International air travel, visa fee, airport tax, excess baggage charges, lunches, beverages, tips, laundry charges, entrance fees or any expenses of a personal nature.

Workshop deposit:

To secure a place in this workshop, a deposit of $350 USD (226 Euros) is required 8 weeks in advance (i.e. 22 August 2008) of departure date. Please note, also, that the price of this workshop is based upon double-occupancy and 12 participants. For single-supplement, please include an addition $500 USD. Also, due to the weakness of the U.S. Dollar against the Indian Rupee, the price of this workshop may increase or decrease slightly, requiring adjustment as departure time nears.
