Video for DSLR (vDSLR) has lowered the entry cost of professional quality video production. It has also opened the door for still photographers to expand their storytelling horizons and for professionals to break into new and lucrative multimedia markets that may have previously been out of reach. As a still photographer, you already possess the technical knowledge and artistic skills needed to make the move to great video. And if you're not quite there yet, many of the newer vDSLR cameras pack all the great video features you'll need to fill in the gaps, until you are.
But despite their excellent cinemagraphic picture quality, vDSLRs, in general, have not the ergonomic design claimed by conventional camcorders. Their ease of use factor is not the same. For many still photographers wanting to jump-start their transition to video, such poses a technical and production challenge. And this is exactly where this "boot camp" video production course steps in. Over the next four lessons and assignments, you'll be learning and applying new skills - camera moves, focus moves, and of course that all-important audio capture - that will have you thinking twice about stopping at just a "single frame."
